Overview

Product overview

The bico spunbond air-through bonding production line is a spunbond nonwoven line built to produce high-end carpet backing fabric from dual-component (bico) composite filaments. It works on the bico spunbond principle: a PET/PP main component and a COPET/PE/PP sub component are spun into continuous composite filaments by slot air drawing, laid into a web, then consolidated by hot air passing through the web (air-through bonding). The finished fabric offers excellent surface smoothness, minimal thickness, high tensile and tear strength and structural stability; high water permeability and breathability, significant rigidity, and easy folding and moldability make it an ideal backing for high-end tufted carpet. The line runs core-sheath filaments of 4.0dpf or a blend of 4.0dpf (PET) + 2.0dpf (COPET), basis weights of 20–300g/m², speeds up to 200m/min, a 2.4m work width and 6,500 tonnes per year of output. Vina Nonwoven is the authorized Huayang representative in Vietnam, advising on line configuration by work width and target output, with installation, commissioning and warranty support.

Q & A

Frequently asked questions

How does air-through bonding differ from the needle-punch process on Huayang's automotive bico line?

This line consolidates fabric with hot air-through bonding instead of needle-punching, producing a thin, smooth-surfaced fabric suited to carpet backing, unlike the thicker needle-punched felt used for automotive parts.

What raw materials does the line use?

The main component is PET/PP, with a COPET/PE/PP sub-component, forming a core-sheath fiber structure.

What is the finished fabric suited for?

The fabric has a smooth surface, minimal thickness, high tensile/tear strength, good water permeability and breathability, and folds and molds easily — making it suitable for high-end tufted carpet backing.

What are the line's main operating specs?

A 2.4 m work width, 20–300 g/m² fabric weight, a maximum speed of 200 m/min, slot air drawing, and a capacity of 6,500 t/y.

Does Vina Nonwoven advise on configuring the line to a customer's needs?

Yes, as Huayang's representative in Vietnam, Vina Nonwoven advises on the configuration best suited to your target backing fabric and provides quotes via hotline or Zalo.
